The Skarab 18 is the pack for the hike you decide on at breakfast. A 2.5-litre Osprey reservoir is already in the sleeve, the bite valve clips to the sternum strap, and the whole thing weighs about a pound and a half — so the only decision left is which trail.

Eighteen litres keeps you honest: a shell, lunch, a first aid kit and not much more. The die-cut AirScape backpanel sits close without sealing your back in, and the webbing hipbelt comes off when you would rather it did not exist. Two colourways.
