Recycled nylon ripstop over a 1000D base keeps the weight sensible without making the bag feel disposable, and the DWR finish is PFC-free. What sells people on it is usually the expansion panel: zip it open when you have shopped your way through a city, zip it shut to compress everything back down for the flight home.
